Woodstock Studios

Transformation of 19th century workshops in Shepherd’s Bush, once used as studios by the BBC, into live-work studios.

This project breathes new life into a London neighbourhood through the “re-visiting” of a building that was no longer making a strong contribution to the life of the area.

To this end, we ensured that the development would accommodate a variety of offices and residential apartments on various floors, thereby pacing the building with a range of activity.

We were careful not to be overly prescriptive in the way spaces were designed, allowing them to retain their potential for future re-use.

Within the rooftop apartments smaller, intimate rooms lead off the main spaces where natural light has been maximized.

This project was designed collaboratively with Francois Girardin.
