We just returned from a site visit to the studio and house we are building in Piedmont. Works have been progressing well through the winter months supported by the lack of snow in Northern Italy. The new window openings have been formed, allowing the effect of the low winter to now be seen in the house. The concrete lintels and cills have been completed all in preparation for the corten windows and shutters which will arrive in April. The stone exterior of the buildings has been fully prepared to receive the new flush mortar, which can be commenced now that the sample has been approved.
Currently we are developing the landscape proposal for the new stone-wall terraces, swimming pool and outdoor eating area and will soon submit a planning proposal for a garage and workshop. We think these will be constructed with drystone walling to allow the main building a degree of solidity in contrast.
